Inn Out of the Cold St. Thomas-Elgin operates to assist local residents who find themselves in difficult financial and/or shelter related circumstances. . Access to personal care items and clothing is available to our guests.
Our Shelter Program (operating 8pm-8am daily) provides a breakfast, warm bed, showers, laundry services, access to clothing and personal care items and staff support nightly to those who have no safe place to sleep. We serve an average of 18 guests per night, up to a capacity of 30. Support for the shelter is comprised largely of community donations of money and needed items for operations as well as hospitality volunteers who assist our staff with meeting guest needs each morning and evening. Shelter Staff and a Systems Navigator work with guests to provide information and access to community resources and to reduce barriers to obtaining permanent housing. Community service providers work closely with the Inn to assist our guests with addressing challenges. *Entrees will either be cold or frozen and need to reheated in microwave/oven/toaster oven.
